【Commentary】Affected by the continuous heavy rainfall in the past few days, the water level of the Baisha River, which flows through Yulin in Guangxi and the eastern part of Hepu County, soared, and on June 6, the river overflowed the riverbed and flooded nearby villages, causing damage to many villages in Baisha County, Shankou, Gongguan and other townships in Hepu County. After the disaster occurred, the local government department immediately organized emergency response, fire fighting, armed police, public security, civil affairs and other forces to carry out emergency rescue.

In Huling Village, Baisha Town, the depth of the flood has approached the lintels of civilian houses, and firefighters drive rubber boats to search for trapped people door to door.

According to the Beihai Fire Rescue Detachment, after receiving the disaster report on June 6, as of 9 o'clock on June 6, the detachment dispatched a total of 10 fire trucks, 5 boats, 33 fire rescue personnel, and a total of 21,189 people were evacuated and transferred.

In accordance with the emergency response plan, the Beihai Detachment of the Guangxi Armed Police Corps also quickly gathered troops and rushed to the scene to carry out rescue work. As of 9 o'clock on the 20th, officers and soldiers used rubber boats, carrying life jackets, cables and other rescue equipment into the deep water area, and successively transferred more than 380 affected people to a safe area.

According to the WeChat public account of the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China, at about 6 o'clock on June 9, there was a dangerous situation on the embankment of the Baisha River in Baisha Town, causing the surrounding villages to be affected and there were no casualties. The National General Headquarters for Flood Prevention and Drought Control launched a four-level emergency response to flood control at 10:6 on June 9, and sent expert groups and working groups to Guangxi and Fujian to assist and guide local flood prevention and disaster relief.

It is understood that at present, Guangxi officials are organizing further rescue and rescue work in an orderly manner, trying to restore the smooth flow of roads in the disaster-stricken areas, and ensuring the supply of living materials and travel safety of the affected people.
