Tom Holland made a very surprising announcement: at 27 years old, the actor has decided to put his career on hold for a year. Zendaya's companion has just experienced a very trying shoot for the needs of the series "The Crowded Room" in which he plays a man with 24 personalities. Producer of the show, Tom Holland did not have a single moment to breathe...

Tom Holland just can't take it anymore... At only 27 years old, the American actor is exhausted both physically and morally. And the filming of the series The Crowded Room, which will be broadcast in the coming days on Apple TV+, has something to do with it. "We touched on some emotions that I had never experienced before. And on top of that, being a producer, dealing with the day-to-day problems that can arise on set, added an extra level of pressure," Zendaya's partner said in an interview with ExtraTV.

Playing the role of a man with psychiatric problems pushed Tom Holland to the limit

It is for this reason that he now wants to breathe and put his career on hold for a year, the time to recharge his batteries. In The Crowded Room, Tom Holland plays Danny Sullivan, a man with 24 personalities who finds himself involved in a shooting in the late 1970s. His character is directly inspired by the American criminal Billy Milligan. If Tom Holland took a lot of pleasure in putting himself in the shoes of Danny, playing this role totally emptied him, especially since he was producing the series.

Tom Holland has already spoken about his mental health

This isn't the first time Tom Holland has spoken openly about his mental health. In 2022, the young actor had published a video on Instagram to explain that he wanted to distance himself from social networks to preserve his psychological state. "I took a break from social media for my mental health," he said. "Instagram and Twitter overstimulate and overwhelm me, I get carried away and go around in circles when I read about myself on the internet. At the end of the day, it's very bad for my mental state, so I decided to take a step back and delete the app."
