Tuesday, June 6, 2023, W9 broadcast "Florent Pagny, the fighter", a new documentary retracing the career of the singer. The interpreter of "Savoir aimer" returns to the strong moments he lived but also the most difficult moments, such as the day when a star of the song openly mocked him during rehearsals ...Florent Pagny certainly took time to recover from this bad experience... In 1988, the singer, then 37 years old, flew to Italy to participate in a charity concert organized by Luciano Pavarotti. As told in the documentary Florent Pagny, the fighter, broadcast Tuesday, June 6 on W9, the interpreter of Savoir aimer was particularly stressed at the idea of singing with the tenor.
Luciano Pavarotti imitated the voice of Florent Pagny to mock him

Unfortunately for the singer, his fears were totally legitimate. In rehearsal with Luciano Pavarotti, Florent Pagny had a very bad time. Aware that he did not have the same vocal abilities as the tenor, the interpreter of Ma liberté de penser sang in lead voice when the notes were too complicated for him to reach. But, this little subterfuge did not work at all with Luciano Pavarotti who began to imitate him by singing in the treble and then coughing very hard before exploding with laughter, without ever looking at Florent Pagny...
