An Iraqi man sparked controversy among social media users when he impersonated a doctor, even though his main profession is a car mechanic.

Iraqi platforms and local media published scenes documented by surveillance cameras at the Baghdad Teaching Hospital, which showed a side conversation between the hospital director and the intended person, where the director of the hospital, "Dr. Al-Bansharji," demanded that the identity of the Iraqi Medical Syndicate be presented for approval to practice the profession, but he did not show it.

Local media reported that the security services of the Medical City were able to arrest a "Bencherji" person who impersonated a doctor, with the help of the hospital director and his assistant.

For its part, the Iraqi Ministry of Health explained in a statement that "the security authorities arrested the impersonator of the doctor, at the same time that he claimed to be a doctor, and not as some platforms published about his practice of the profession years ago."

The "Shabakat" program (2023/6/4) continued the great interaction witnessed by this news on social media platforms, where activist Ahmed commented sarcastically: "He understood the issue wrongly, on the basis of all repairing malfunctions, whether human organs or car organs."

Activist Celine attributed the responsibility to the lack of strict laws in the country, saying: "The country is lost. and weak laws. Everyone is impersonating what they like... If the administration were strong... What was and is."

Tweeter Youssef commented sarcastically: "It seems that he is walking in an oil change operation in the operating room."

For her part, activist Sondos questioned his certificates and legal papers that are supposed to prove his eligibility to practice the profession, and wrote: "How is he appointed, where are his certificate papers, and where is a reasonable one who takes a job degree and his name gradually is a Bencherji ... This is a little bit of a subject."

It is noteworthy that in Iraq, like most Arab countries, the study of medicine takes more than 5 years, followed by years of training and specialization to obtain a license to practice the profession as a doctor.

The Baghdad Medical City is a government health department that includes a group of hospitals and health institutions. It is the largest government medical department in Iraq.
