The Berlin police have pulled an 18-year-old out of circulation, who was traveling in a sports car at a speed of 280 km/h. According to the police report, the novice driver overtook a civilian patrol on Wednesday night on the A115 in the direction of Zehlendorf – and accelerated loudly shortly afterwards.

During the subsequent pursuit, the officers' video measuring device documented a top speed of more than 280 kilometers per hour – a speed limit of 100 km/h is allowed there. Finally, the civilian patrol overtook the speeder and guided him off the highway at the Spanische Allee junction.

With a court order, the car and the six-month-old driver's license of the 18-year-old were confiscated. Further investigations are being conducted by a specialist police department for traffic offences.
