The Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court of Fujian Province found in the first instance that Wu Xieyu was pessimistic and world-weary, had thoughts of suicide, and after his father's death, he believed that his mother Xie's life had lost its meaning, and in the first half of 2015, he had the idea of killing Xie Moumou, and purchased crime tools online. At about 7 o'clock on July 10 of the same year, Wu Xieyu took advantage of Xie Moumou's home to change his shoes, holding a dumbbell bar and continuously slammed Xie Moumou's head and face several times, causing his death, cleaning up the scene and absconding. Later, Wu Xieyu fabricated the fact that Xie accompanied him abroad for exchange and study, and defrauded relatives and friends of 17.144 million yuan for personal squandering on the grounds of living expenses, tuition fees, and proof of financial resources.
