  • TV Reventón on MasterChef 11: the dantesque show that ended in drama

It's a tradition. There is no edition of MasterChef, especially the last ones, in which accusations of tongo and cheating make their surprise appearance. It's normal. The spectators will always have our favorites and it hurts when they are not the ones who win. However, in MasterChef 11 something unprecedented is happening. It has never been the contestants themselves who with MasterChef still on broadcast have joined that usual wave of criticism. Until now, until Luca arrived, until the scattering, the favoritism, the "plug" begins to be too shameless.

After a couple of programs in calm, calm chicha is usually said, in coexistence, after the criticism of some aspirants to certain expulsions, such as Merce or Fray Marcos, it is the turn of the "plugged in", of Luca Dazi, of the tiktoker who since the first program has been one of the protagonists, for better or for worse, of this edition of MasterChef.

First was his attitude, his behavior, the criticism of his teammates, his arrogance... Now, it is the aspirants themselves who both inside the program and outside cannot and do not want to remain silent. They are up to the very bun of what they consider, and so they hint at it, an excessive favoritism on the part of the judges and MasterChef towards him, towards Luca.

For weeks social networks have been filled with comments about the "plug" that Luca has in MasterChef. What is obvious is obvious. Rumors always haunt MasterChef. It is not the first time nor the last that when something does not fit into the culinary talent, when something is too blatant the followers of the program look for a reason. With Luca it is impossible not to look for it. Some say that he is the son of a director of the company that supplies food to El Corte Ingles, official sponsor of MasterChef, and that is why he is in the program and that is why they have him among cottons. Others, which is the discordant note to give spectacle and show to MasterChef beyond the kitchen. As the great Rafaella Carrà would say, "mi è sembrato di sentire un rumore, rumore".

Indeed, rumors, nothing tangible, but that it is a rumor is the answer to a situation that no one can understand, not even those who have participated in MasterChef. No wonder, there are very strange things around Luca's contest. There are practically no images of him cooking, he is almost always valued well above the rest of his teammates despite the fact that his dishes are quite far from the category of many of his teammates, team in which he is in an outdoor test, team that will never be eliminated and, finally, I do not remember the week in which the judges made a negative assessment.

Favoritism stalks MasterChef

Everything is marvellous in Luca's cooking. As Alex said last night on Twitter, contestant of MasterChef 11 and one of the favorites to win this edition: "If we were all measured with the same yardstick how the story would change ... Anyway... to improve." It is at least strange that the comments of his colleagues in the program are always to make visible the lack of level in the kitchen of the tiktoker. Let the spectators say it, well, after all we have not been inside, we do not taste dishes, we can not know if it is good, bad or regular, but that those who have been there and those who know what there is is weird, weird, weird.

And he's not the only one. What happened last night in the first test of MasterChef 11 provoked the rebellion once again of Jotha in the program, but also the rebellion of Jotha in social networks, that of Alex, even that of Francesc, expelled last week. I insist, that within MasterChef the aspirants explode sometime that another is normal, but that they do it months after having finished the recordings, live and live, smells like a scorcher, smells a lot.

In the case of Jotha, he followed the trail that was seen last night in the program. The aspirants had to cook a free dish in which they had to use at least one of the spices they had previously hit and one of the sauces that MasterChef had shown them (mojo picón, fish sauce, Georgian tkemali ...). They had to prepare dishes for three diners, mark them with their corresponding stickers and wait for the tasting of judges and some very special guests, some of the former MasterChef 11 aspirants.

There were Fray Marcos, Francesc, Laura, Merce, Sergio, Larraitz and Jeremy. Let's see, I understand that the tastes of the chefs are much more demanding than those of the guests, for something they are judges and for something they are culinary experts, but something strange happens when one of the favorites of the diners is the worst rated of the judges. And no, dear Jordi Cruz, no, Jotha did not make any gesture to Francesc or Fray Marcos to put the color of his plate because Frank, who was at another table and who cannot be accused of being intimate with Jotha, although he did not vote for him, valued Jotha's dish far above the rest.

That is, for the diners, although they were not very clear if it was chicken or fish because the plating was a terrible disaster, it was rich, very rich, in fact. Why was it so horrific for Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, Pepe Rodríguez and Jordi Cruz? We all have taste buds with the same function. Yes, some are more developed than others, but... But it can't be so shameless. Especially because while for the guests Jotha's dish was delicious, Luca's there were diners, like Larraitz, who could not even taste it because the meat was about to go grazing in the nearest meadow. But for the judges, Luca's meat point was great. Weird, weird, weird...

It is true that Jotha's dish was a bit strange and that the judges before starting the test warned them that they wanted to see evolution, that they wanted to see haute cuisine and that they wanted to see that they are already in the final stretch of MasterChef. But if you apply that scale for some, you have to apply it for others. And here is the problem the yardstick, as Alex wrote last night, it is not the same for everyone, it is not the same for Luca and it is like that from the first program and it looks like it will be until last.

Okay, the plate of jotha was hard to describe. Rich, according to diners, but difficult to understand. So let's compare Luca's and Alex's. Luca's was a low-loin fillet, just like Alex's, on a base of pumpkin puree, all very well placed, all very cute, but point ball. And the flesh, more alive than dead. Alex's, although Samantha Vallejo-Nágera was already in charge of warning him during the cooking that he had gone to the easy and the usual, had technique, at least what was seen was well done, had intention and was also well valued by his colleagues. It was not the perfect dish or the dish expected of the winning horse, but certainly to place it at the same level, or even, below Luca's, or cunt.

Claudia, expelled from MasterChef 11

So when the valuations arrived, it was messed up, go that if it was messed up. Having Jotha on MasterChef 11 is a privilege because Jotha says things as they think they are. Is it politically incorrect? Of course it is because it is not what is expected of an aspirant. But it is absolute sincerity for better or worse. And it is appreciated.

So when the judges defenestrated his step, they accused him that perhaps he had made some gesture to Francesc and Fray Marcos to vote for his plate and then he heard the valuation of Luca's plate, which of course they saved from the black apron, exploded.

"You can tell you have no knowledge about spices and seasonings because they weren't well used. What surprises us is that you had two votes from your peers because the dish was bad. It smelled like a scorcher," Jordi Cruz told him. Jotha's faces were a poem, especially when she heard that Luca's dish was "quite a bit better," when she heard how fantastic her plating was, and when she heard that the meat was on point. "Jotha, do you think your dish was better than Luca's?" asked Jordi Cruz. "Much better," he replied. "Jotha your plate was not right and yours at least has not loaded the meat," settled the MasterChef chef.

How? Of the few images that were shown of Luca's dish and by the comments of the diners, Luca's meat was not good, or anything at all. What a weird smell! So strange that Luca again saved, in the same group as Álex, and Jotha, to the elimination test with Ana, who screwed her up but well with her lentils, Claudia, another one who dances, and Lluís, my poor thing.

Pilu was the best of the test. He saved Lluís with his advantage, while Jotha acknowledged his disappointment for a dish that he considered after reflecting that it was not up to the program, but continued in his thirteen: Luca's dish was not better than his. And it has to hurt when you've eaten I don't know how many elimination tests and Luca is saved again and again whatever he does, whether it's wrong or wrong.

And then there's something else. Last night Samantha Vallejo-Nágera accused Claudia, expelled after three failed gyozas, of lack of humility. And Luca's? Because a lot of teaching him that in the world social networks are not everything, a lot of pushing him to fulfill his dreams, but being a little more humble, like no, like it comes in handy for the show. Well, they are creating a monster. When someone is not valued fairly and everything they are taught is a rose-colored path, they end up believing what they are not. Luca is not the best, Luca makes dishes as disastrous as the rest of his peers, but Luca is the pretty boy of MasterChef. Why?
