The fire site is located at an altitude of more than 3100 meters in the steep rock of Maireyi Village, Jimaidian Village, Sanjianya Township, Muli County, with steep terrain, longitudinal and horizontal ravines, slope of 50-70 degrees, vegetation is Yunnan pine and shrub mixed forest, temperature 18-31 °C, wind force 3, wind direction south, extreme wind 6. There is a continuous fire line of about 3 kilometers on the eastern and northern lines of the fire site, which is accompanied by intermittent canopy fires for stable surface fires.

On May 5, the rescue team launched the rescue from the southern section of the eastern line of the fire site by using conventional machinery in front and water pumps in the back to follow up and clean up, and the northern section of the eastern line used conventional machinery to pounce and clean up in the southeast direction; The water pump erected on the north line of the fire site was cleaned from west to east; The western front of the fire site used natural water sources to set up water pumps to clean up and guard the western front; An observation post was set up on the southern line of the fire site, focusing on the development of cliff fires on the southern line of the fire site.
