The recent appearance of Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad in one of his concerts in Saudi Arabia - as part of the activities of the Jeddah 2023 entertainment season - in strange clothes sparked widespread controversy on social media.

While on stage, the Egyptian artist appeared wearing an earring in his ears and a sleeveless jacket underneath a transparent mesh shirt, which made him widely criticized by tweeters.

The program "Shabakat" (2023/5/29) monitored some of the interactions and controversy against the background of this appearance, foremost of which was the comment of his ex-wife, the artist Somaya Al-Khashab, where she wrote sarcastically, "And I say to dress Rah Finn."

Mohamed Shalabi also tweeted, "I was surprised by the actions of the artists after they knew that the trend remained more important than their artworks."

Tarek Abu El-Ezz wrote, "This is the size of the artist's own culture, the size of his vision and belief, the conditions of the environment from which he emerged, and the level of education he obtained. It's definitely not nice at all, but in the end it's his business, whether we disagree or agree with him."

Personal freedom

As for Gibran, he had a different point of view, which he expressed in a tweet, in which he wrote, "He is free in it, what are the people's money and the money of wearing artists? All your problems have been solved and they have time to talk about so-and-so."

But Ram responded in a tweet, saying: "No, dear, every human being wears a dress worthy of his level and level. I do not criticize the throat and the transparent dress, but the criticism of people follows what follows these movements and clothes and keeping up with the fashion of the blind."

Joseph Nasser also tweeted sarcastically, "The most funny thing is that a group follows that they say we have our clothes and traditions, you must modernize because our whole country has modernized customs and traditions in the first place."

Ahmed Saad was not the only artist who sparked controversy with his style of clothing, at the same time his brother Amr appeared in almost the same outfit, and artists had previously appeared in controversial clothes, including Mohamed Ramadan and singer Wiggs.

The criticism reached the Musicians Syndicate, which demanded action against the artist, but the spokesman for the syndicate rejected the idea of punishment, and with the increasing controversy, the artist Ahmed Saad wrote commenting, "My choices are ruining my life."
