After the large fire in the center of Sydney in Australia, two 13-year-olds have turned themselves in to the police. The two teenagers had reported to two different police stations on Friday night, police spokesman Paul Dunstan said.

The investigators had spoken to the boys for a long time, they "are now helping the police with our investigation," the spokesman added. He did not provide detailed information on the content of the statements.

More than 100 firefighters in action

After the outbreak of the fire on Thursday, a group of young people had been seen running away from the site. Dunstan called on three or four other "young people who were present during the fire" to report to the police with their parents and "tell their part of the story."

The fire broke out on Thursday in a seven-storey uninhabited building near Sydney Central Station. The flames were meters high and threatened to spread to neighboring buildings. The entire wall of the top floor collapsed, the debris fell on the street. More than 100 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the fire. Because of the operation, the operation of the main station had to be temporarily suspended.
