Beijing, May 5, 25 (Reporter Shangguanyun) On May 2016, 5, the famous writer and translator Yang Wei passed away. At that time, as soon as the news came out, many people posted condolences on Weibo to express their grief.

In terms of literary achievements, Yang Wei is an admirable person; In life, she is a lovely old man, caring about her juniors and friends, humble and low-key, living in seclusion in her later years, and still working hard.

Time passed in a hurry, but it did not take away everyone's thoughts of her.

A well-known translator

Yang Wei was born in an intellectual family, his real name is Yang Jikang. She has loved reading since she was a child, and she reads books in both Chinese and English. After entering Tsinghua University in 1932, Yang Wei met Qian Chongshu and soon married and had a daughter, Qian Yu.

She understands the value of Chin Chongshu and is willing to sacrifice herself for the success of his research and writings, in order to give full play to his potential and creativity, "This kind of love is not blind, it is understanding, and the deeper the understanding, the better the feelings." ”

Qian Chongshu was clumsy in the trivial matters of life, and Yang Wei took care of all the chores. After the two returned to China from studying, she fully supported her husband in writing "Siege of the City", and she also tried to write a four-act drama "Satisfied", which was highly praised, and the pseudonym "Yang Wei" has since spread.

"The people who were surrounded in the city wanted to escape, and the people outside the city wanted to rush in. It's not about marriage, it's about career. This is mostly the aspiration of life. This narration always appears in the opening credits of the TV series "Siege of the City", and is still widely quoted today, and is said to have been written by Yang Wei.

Later, Yang Wei taught himself Spanish and began to translate the original Don Quixote. In 1978, her translation of Don Quixote was finally published, and it is still recognized as a masterpiece.

In his later years, Yang Wei continued to work hard. published a collection of essays, "We", which writes about the deepest and most lasting nostalgia for her husband and daughter; "Walking to the Edge of Life" explores the value of life and the direction of the soul, and has been praised by critics as "having the innocence and beauty of a newborn baby".

After Qian Chongshu's death, Yang began another large and heavy task: transcribing, pasting, and sorting out a large number of manuscripts and reading notes left by Qian Chongshu during his lifetime, and submitting them to the Commercial Press for photocopying and publication.

"I'm just a drop of water"

Despite his reputation, Yang Wei has always been low-key and modest, and for many years he has always "kept his innocence, became his nature, and devoted himself to completing what he can do".

In a "Self-Order", she once positioned herself this way, "I am not a professional writer; All the works in the anthology are written with encounters. I'm just an amateur author. ”

When someone wants to write a biography of her, she often persuades her not to write it. The reason is simple, "I am an ordinary person who does not deserve your biography, and I simply advise you to abandon this work." ”

In his later years, Yang Wei almost never attended public events, even when the latest nine-volume Yang Wei Collected Works was first published in 2014.

It is said that when she rejected the publisher's suggestion to hold a seminar, she said humorously, "No need, I'm just a drop of water, not soapy water, and I can't blow bubbles." ”

After Yang Wei's death, the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences issued an obituary stating that the precious cultural relics and calligraphy and paintings stored in Mr. Qian Chongshu and Mr. Yang Wei's home had all been donated to the National Museum of China free of charge during his lifetime. Books, manuscripts and other property were also arranged and donated to relevant state units, and executors were appointed.

Leave quietly

The "Our Home" mentioned in "We" is located in a dormitory community in Sanlihe, Beijing, which is an apartment with no enclosed balcony and no interior decoration. Since the family moved in in 1977, Yang Wei has not left.

Her neighbor once told reporters that her biggest impression of Yang Wei is that "life is very simple", "Other people's homes are well decorated, and her home has been cement flooring for so many years, and it is not decorated." ”

Although the furnishings at home are simple, life is very warm. "The two of us quietly sat a desk in the living room every day, quietly reading and working. Outside of work, we 'explore' around the neighborhood or walk around the yard. ”

The good things in the world are not strong, and the colorful clouds are easy to scatter and the glass is brittle. After the death of Qian Yu and Qian Chongshu, for Yang Wei, this place became an inn on the journey. "Where home is, I don't know. I'm still looking for a way home. ”

For death, she is indifferent and detached, calling this inevitable destination of life "going home", and leaving a will: after her death, the funeral will be simple; There is no memorial hall, no farewell ceremony, and no ashes.

The famous critic Bai Ye once revealed, "She did have last words, saying that she wanted to go quietly and did not want to be disturbed by the outside world." ”

Someone once commented that Yang Wei "wrote calmly and restrained, but contained great strength, and her talent and personality still shine with the passage of time." Perhaps, this is why many people still miss her. (End)
