"We are in the mountains, and suddenly a new face and a foreign accent have arrived, and the neighbors are wary of him, and some people think he is a 'liar'." Speaking of Wang Ying, a community auxiliary police officer from the Wumuzhai Police Office of the Mucheng Border Police Station of the Baoshan Border Management Detachment in Yunnan, Yu Daniang, a Lisu woman who has lived for generations in the Wumuzhai community of Longling County, Yunnan Province, on the border of China-Myanmar, opened the conversation and talked about the interesting story of Wang Ying when she first arrived at the police office.

Wang Ying, from Ziyang, Sichuan, has worked in the Wumuzhai Police Office for 3 years, and the local people's understanding of him has been repeatedly "refreshed". Wang Ying has also changed from a "stranger" to a caring person and "guardian saint" in the eyes of the people in the jurisdiction.

At the beginning of the community work in Wumuzhai in 2020, Wang Ying was still a complete "stunned blue", and even the most basic communication was a problem. "At that time, the most common question people asked me was, why did I travel so far to work as an auxiliary police officer at the Mucheng Border Police Station?" Wang Ying said.

Whenever he encounters such a question, Wang Ying will always patiently explain: he and his wife Kong Fuying met and fell in love when they were working outside, and his wife is a native of Ebony Village in Mucheng Township, Longling County, so he came to Ebony Village with his wife to work and live. "Ebony Village has a pleasant climate, it feels very comfortable to live and live here, and I quickly liked it." Wang Ying introduced with a smile.

In August 2020, Wang Ying joined the full-time auxiliary police team of the Baoshan Border Management Detachment, and then came to the Wumuzhai Police Office to become a community auxiliary police officer at the Mucheng Border Police Station.

Ebony Village is the most remote village from Mucheng Township, with 908 households and a permanent population of 3142,<>. In order to narrow the distance with the people and understand their voices, Wang Ying will bring a community record book with him every time he visits the community, and record what he has seen and heard. He said, "Instead of asking people to come to the police office to find us and bring their notebooks to their homes, we can build deep friendships with everyone and enhance their sense of security." ”

After getting along for a long time, talking "gentle wind and rain" is the general impression that Wang Ying left on the public. With sincerity, enthusiasm and carefulness, Wang Ying gradually entered the hearts of the people and became the "old Wang" in the mouths of the people and the "family" in the eyes of the neighbors.

"My wife also works in the Wumuzhai police office, and we usually go together to carry out community work and publicize the law." Wang Ying said that community work is complicated, and with the help of his wife Kong Fuying, a lot of work is easier to carry out, especially the resolution of some contradictions and disputes.

In March 2023, five sheep from one family in the village broke the fence of another villager's house during a neighborhood dispute, and the two sides had many arguments. Wang Ying quickly rushed to coordinate after receiving a call from the residents, and Kong Fuying also rushed to the scene. With the cooperation of the two, the dispute was quickly resolved, and the two sides shook hands and reached an agreement. Mediations like this happen several times a month.

After coming to work in the Wumuzhai Police Office, the couple has developed a tacit understanding, as long as there is a dispute, Kong Fuying will go to the door with her husband Wang Ying to mediate. They put their homes at the border and did their work to the hearts of the people. Since joining the work, they have worked tirelessly to travel back and forth, which has become a unique scenery in the Ebony village community.

"He's not a liar, he's our sweetheart now." People in the Wumuzhai community said that Wang Ying and his wife, who are constantly running on the border, are like a ray of light, bringing warmth and peace to the people. (End)
