Tina Turner's fans are still in shock. Wednesday, May 24, their idol, the "Queen of Rock & Roll", died at the age of 83 after a "long illness". The American star breathed her last at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Tina Turner had been battling major health problems for several years.

If his spokesman did not reveal the exact cause of his death, it is known that the singer, who suffered from hypertension, had fought against bowel cancer in 2016. The star, who had badly experienced the side effects of his medical treatment, had finally decided to treat himself with alternative medicines, including homeopathy.

Tina Turner had come close to death because of her kidney problems

Unfortunately, these alternative medicines had only worsened his health and had even led to the failure of both his kidneys. It was her husband Erwin Bach who had saved her life by donating one of her kidneys while hers were working "only 20%". "The consequences of my ignorance almost killed me," said Tina Turner, who received a transplant in April 2017. "I then discovered something extraordinary about Erwin: he never blamed me for my mistakes. Instead, he was loyal, kind and understanding. He was determined to help me stay alive."

"I believed my body was indestructible"

Marked by this experience, the rockstar took to her Instagram account on March 9, on the occasion of International Kidney Day, to raise awareness in her community.

"Today is International Kidney Day. Why is this important? Because the kidneys deteriorate without pain. And that's why I'm telling you today: show love to your loins. They deserve it," the singer said. "My kidneys are victims of the fact that I did not understand that my hypertension should have been treated with conventional medicine, I regret. I put myself in great danger by refusing to accept that I need lifelong medical treatment. I believed, for too long, that my body was indestructible," she added.

After her transplant in 2017, Tina Turner said her "medical adventure" was not over. "But I'm here, we're still here, closer than we imagined. I look behind me and think about my karma. Good is born of evil, joy of sorrow. And I've never been happier than I feel today," she said, eternally grateful to her husband.
