Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee. It got its name from the blues musician Ike Turner, the name Tina was intended to commemorate the main character of the film "Sheena, the Queen of the Jungle".

Together with Ike Turner, Tina Turner achieved great success, »A Fool in love« became her first big hit in 1960. Two years later, they got married. Here you can see both in 1970.

The divorce from Ike Turner was followed by a difficult time, in the seventies Turner even had to work as a domestic help. However, her hard work paid off: she made a triumphant comeback in 1984 with »Privat Dancer«. Here she shows herself with Lionel Richie at the Grammy Awards in 1985. Turner developed a love for Europe. At times she even lived in Cologne, and in the nineties she moved with her German partner to Switzerland in the canton of Zurich.

In recent years, Turner had retired to Lake Zurich with her husband, music manager Erwin Bach, to enjoy life without obligations. In an interview with Die Zeit in 2018, she reported on a stroke in 2013 and a kidney transplant in 2016.
