The death of rock icon Tina Turner has not only shaken the music world. Many people expressed their emotions – including some who knew them personally.

British model Naomi Campbell commented on the news of Turner's death on Instagram, saying: "Rest in peace and strength THE QUEEN, LEGEND, ICON. There will never be another one. Cherish my times with you." The 53-year-old posted crying smileys, a broken heart and praying hands.

Turner's former manager, Roger Davies, paid tribute to the rock legend as a "unique and remarkable force of nature with its strength, incredible energy and immense talent," according to the PA news agency. It was a "privilege and an honor" to have been a close friend and manager for more than 30 years. He added, "I will miss her deeply."

"There will always be only one Tina Turner," said the head of the BMG music label, Hartwig Masuch. »Her music and her life have touched so many people.«

Canadian singer Bryan Adams thanked the singer for "inspiring millions of people around the world" to whom she had given her voice. Rejoice in paradise, queen. Legends never die," actress Rosario Dawson wrote on Instagram.

"Thank you for the inspiration you gave us all," wrote US singer Ciara on Twitter. Heaven has now gained "an angel". U.S. sports star Magic Johnson paid tribute to Turner as a "true entertainer" with "so much energy" during her performances. She was a role model for other great artists such as Janet Jackson and Beyoncé.

There has also been a reaction from the White House. The death of singer Tina Turner is "incredibly sad news" and a great loss for those who loved her and for the music industry, said White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre. Even the U.S. space agency posted a tribute on Twitter: "Your legacy will live forever under the stars."

Mick Jagger, frontman of the Rolling Stones, wrote on Twitter: "She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young, and I'll never forget her."

Tina Turner died at the age of 83 after a long illness in Switzerland, according to a spokesman.
