• RTVE The keys to Blanca Paloma's disaster in Eurovision: from televoting to incomprehension

Surprise just two weeks after the grand final of Eurovision, in which Spain was in 17th place: RTVE has moved tab and has removed Eva Mora as head of delegation at the Festival. Mora, who was one of those in charge of returning all its splendor to the Benidorm Fest and who achieved, together with Chanel, a historic third place in Eurovision, is left out.

In her place, the Public Corporation placed, again, Ana María Bordás, who already exercised that task between 2017 and 2021. Therefore, the third edition of Benidorm Fest will be co-directed by Ana María Bordas, head of the Spanish delegation in Eurovision and director of RTVE Originals, and César Vallejo, deputy director of RTVE Play Premieres. María Eizaguirre, Director of Communication and Participation of RTVE, will continue to lead the organization of the events and communication of the Benidorm Fest. Eizaguirre, therefore, will once again be omnipresent and the visible face by RTVE at the Benidorm Fest.

According to Informalia, behind these unexpected movements and the cessation of Eva Mora, one of the architects of the best position in Spain in Eurovision for decades, is José Pablo López, director of General Content of RTVE.

The music festival organized by RTVE will also have three musical advisors: Pablo Cebrián, musician, composer and music producer, David Martínez (Rayden), singer and participant of the Benidorm Fest 2022, and Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, producer and composer closely linked to Eurovision.

All of them will be part of a committee of experts that will be composed of a total of 10 people related to RTVE, Eurovision and the music industry: José Pablo López, Director of General Content of RTVE, Ana María Bordas, María Eizaguirre, César Vallejo, Pablo Cebrián, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, David Martínez (Rayden), Virginia Díaz , director of the program '180 grados' on Radio 3 and presenter of 'Cachitos de hierro y cromo' on La 2, Tony Aguilar, Eurovision commentator on RTVE, and choreographer Miryam Benedited. Eva Mora will not even be on this committee of experts.

This committee will be in charge of assessing the proposals that are coming to RTVE since the deadline opened on May 16 until next October 10. Once concluded, they will select the 16 candidates aspiring to win the Bronze Microphone of the Benidorm Fest 2024 and a place to represent Spain in the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Sweden.
