Along the Akita Nairiku Line in Kitaakita City, Akita Prefecture, rice planting was carried out in "Rice Paddy Art," which draws a huge picture with rice of different colors.

Every year, in the paddy fields along the tracks of the Akita Nairiku Line, which connects Kitaakita City and Semboku City, we collaborate with local farmers to create "rice field art" to the delight of train passengers and visitors.

This year, it was decided to plant rice of different colors at four paddy fields along the railway line to create "rice field art," and on the 4th, rice was planted in a rice field facing Jomon-Ogada Station in Kitaakita City.

About 24 people, including local residents and elementary school students, participated in the event, carefully planting six types of seedlings using tape stretched over the rice paddies in advance as a marker.

When the seedlings grow, they turn yellow, orange, and black, so this place will depict the mascot character "Isedo-kun" and Akita Inu dogs of the nearby World Cultural Heritage "Isedodai Ruins".

A local man in his 60s who participates every year said, "The colors of the rice field art change not only once but also at the change of season, so I want you to enjoy it as well."

This means that you can enjoy rice field art from late June to early September.
