The "National Urban Greening Festival" was held in Sendai City, aiming to create a green city, and Ms. Yoshiko, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Akishino, also attended the ceremony.

The National Urban Greening Festival is held every year by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and other organizations with the aim of promoting the development of a city with lush greenery, and was held in Sendai City, where the venue of the "National Urban Greening Sendai Fair" is located.

The ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including officials from Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City, as well as Ms. Yoshiko.

Ms. Yoshiko stated, "Yesterday, when I arrived in Sendai and looked at the beautiful fresh greenery of the trees spreading in the sky, I realized why it is called the 'City of Trees.' I would like to express my deep thoughts to each and every one of you who have lived through various difficulties since the earthquake, and I would like to express my heartfelt respect to all of you who have worked hard for reconstruction."

After this, six elementary school students in the city pledged to "protect and nurture irreplaceable greenery and connect it to the future from here in Sendai, the city of trees" as part of the "Urban Greening Declaration."

Ms. Yoshiko also visited the Aobayama Park memorial district, which is one of the main venues of the "National Urban Greening Sendai Fair", and after seeing the flowers and plants, she planted Yaebenishidarezakura with elementary school students.

Ayaka Sato, who explained to Yoshiko about the flowers at the venue, said, "I explained how many kinds of flowers there are and how to create flower beds.
