After fatal shooting of the employee of a drive-in restaurant in Texas, a twelve-year-old boy has been arrested for murder. This was announced by the local police.

Matthew Davis, 32, was shot dead on Saturday night after an argument with 20-year-old Angel Gomez in the parking lot of the restaurant in Keene, about 64 kilometers southwest of Dallas. According to the information, the boy was in the restaurant together with Gomez. After taking a gun from Gomez's vehicle, he shot Davis several times, police said.

Davis was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The weapon is said to have been a semi-automatic rifle.

Both suspects arrested

Both Gomez and the boy initially fled the scene, but Gomez later returned and was arrested for murder. The boy was found in the nearby town of Rio Vista and was also arrested, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after two mass shootings that had once again drawn attention to the problem of gun violence not only in Texas but throughout the United States.
