Yes, June 16 was the date marked on Mediaset's calendar for the final farewell of Sálvame. However, difficulties with the execution of the projects that have to replace the program of La Fábrica de la Tele, have led the audiovisual group to give one more week of life to the program presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez.

As confirmed by this newspaper, the last program of Save me will be on June 23, a week after the date announced by EL MUNDO last Friday. The decision to delay until the 23rd of next month the end of Sálvame comes from something common in the chains: the execution of projects.

What will happen to Jorge Javier Vázquez and Ana Rosa Quintana after the end of Sálvame

The program that will replace Sálvame during the summer months and until the new program of Ana Rosa Quintana premieres in the afternoons of Telecinco in September, has been commissioned to the producer Cuarzo Producciones. At the head of the program will be Sandra Barneda who, although she is currently recording the seventh season of La isla de las tentaciones in the Dominican Republic, would arrive for the new program.

The problem is the overload of productions that Cuarzo Producciones has ahead. In addition to La isla de las tentaciones 7, Cuarzo Producciones also has ahead of it the new reality announced by Mediaset this Wednesday, ¡Vaya vacaciones!, presented by Luján Argüelles and which is also scheduled to premiere during the summer months. If this project, which is also recorded outside Spain, in the Dominican Republic, is added to the summer substitute of Sálvame, the result is obvious: Cuarzo Producciones needs more time and has requested it from Mediaset.

What a vacation! will begin recording at the beginning of June in the Dominican Republic, where right now the Cuarzo Producciones team is recording La isla de las tentaciones, which usually lasts about five weeks. And it is not an easy program, since, according to information from Mediaset, the new program of Luján Argüelles, the mechanics of the program is that eight couples of celebrities travel accompanied by a couple of their liking to a paradisiacal destination of sun and sea, to retire for a while from the madding crowd in an all-inclusive luxury hotel.

Both The Island of Temptations and What a Vacation! have an important production work. And for everything to be tied and well tied and the three productions that Cuarzo Producciones has in hand for Mediaset to come out in conditions, they need more time and, of course, Mediaset has given it to them.

So the followers of Sálvame will be able to continue enjoying one more week of their program, while the collaborators will have one more week to say goodbye to those who have accompanied them during 14 years of emission every afternoon from Monday to Friday.

Last Friday, EL MUNDO published exclusively the end of Save Me. The company that directs Telecinco had made the decision to cancel the program that has been the flagship of the chain since its premiere in April 2009, a format that took the programs of the heart to a new dimension, from which they have drunk debates and gatherings of all kinds and that has been a tireless factory of controversies, characters, plots and crazy audience figures.

From September it will be Ana Rosa Quintana, undisputed leader of the mornings with an average audience of more than 18%, who occupies the after-dinner of the channel. The Madrid journalist will continue to direct the political debate of her program early in the morning – at least until the next general elections pass – but the rest of the space will be in the hands of Joaquín Prat, her co-presenter so far and also host of Ya es mediodía, and the rest of his collaborators.

The production of the new evening program of Ana Rosa Quintana falls into the hands of her producer Unicorn Content and, at the moment, little is known about it, since everything is in the project phase, although, as confirmed this week Mediaset, Ana Rosa Quintana will be in charge of a daily current affairs format, which will combine information and entertainment.

In Telecinco there are many presenters, but they know that "there are only two stars", in reference to the weight of Jorge Javier Vázquez and Ana RosaQuintana. That is why, they justify, the gap left by the program of the first could only be filled by the program of the second. Content like Save Me can only be replaced by other reference content, they believe.

Within this new strategy is also framed the agreement with Kosmos, the company of former footballer Gerard Piqué, to broadcast in Cuatro the matches of the next season of the Kings League. "It's a risky decision, but the plan is to make a different television and look for new audiences," they insist.

Sálvame, as a great icon of what Telecinco has been in recent decades, was in the spotlight since Mediaset decided to dispense with Vasile as the head of the company. The new management of the company, with Alessandro Salem at the helm and Borja Prado as the new executive chairman, set itself the goal of changing the face of Telecinco.
