The National Police Agency is calling attention to the fact that the number of special frauds in the first three months of this year has increased by about 3% compared to the same period last year, and the number of fictitious fee billing scams targeting the elderly in particular has increased.

According to the National Police Agency, the number of special frauds in the three months from January to March this year was 1,3, and the amount of damage amounted to approximately 3.4533 billion yen.

Compared to the same period last year, there were 93,2000 cases, an increase of 1033.29%, and the amount of damage increased by approximately 5.20 billion yen, or 3000.27%.

By method, fictitious billing fraud was the most common at 1149,30 cases, and the damage amount was approximately 8000.87 billion yen, which is 7.6%, or 8000 million yen, more than the same period last year.

Many of the fictitious fee billing scams are aimed at the elderly, and they are told false stories over the phone that they can acquire the right to live in a nursing home, and if they refuse the story, they are worried that they have become a problem with the name lending over the transfer of rights, and they are defrauded of cash in the name of the resolution cost.

The National Police Agency warns people not to answer unannounced calls and to use answering machines, and from this month, NTT will make free use of services such as a service that allows you to know the number of the person who called you, so we want you to actively use it.
