"I decided to give it a try and I was hooked. I love it." This is how resounding Georgina Rodríguez (Buenos Aires, Argentina, January 27, 1994) is shown in her Netflix docu-reality about boxing, the fashionable discipline. While there is increasing talk that many celebrities are taking Ozempic, an antidiabetic drug, to lose weight and be able to enter tiny and tight dresses in ceremonies -Kim Kardashian at the MET Gala a lo Marilyn, for example-, Cristiano Ronaldo's partner, however, has wanted to flee from magical and unhealthy recipes to get ready for the Latin Grammy.

In Soy Georgina she shows in a practical way how sport is the way to become the best version of yourself and thus be able to eat the sausage that she likes so much. Of course, his inspiring work could be even greater if the goal was not always to lose kilos for an act, but to stay in shape. That is why her speech on the psychological benefits of boxing that she already experiences beyond the physical one is striking. "I have read that it goes very well for the mind," he says on the program, and confesses to feeling strong.

A PROFESSIONAL TRAINER

The model teaches with none other than Lincoln Strong, featherweight champion boxer, category that groups from 55.33 to 57.15 kilos, approximately. He was his personal trainer since CR7's time as a Manchester footballer in the United Kingdom. "It's super good for me. It gives me confidence. A lot of security," describes the celebrity doing the jab and cross, typical boxing moves, and some kicks and dodges executed with mastery.

This is the key, says Jesús Blanco, master trainer of Brooklyn Fitboxing, by which boxing achieves the desired adherence that invites you not to abandon it after two days. "When we exercise, especially one where we have fun, our self-esteem automatically grows. We feel good about ourselves for taking care of ourselves, for having adopted healthy lifestyle habits", explains this spokesman for the 195 Spanish fitboxing centers that have already made the leap to more than 10 countries.

SHORT-TERM RESULTS

In that first moment, that we notice changes in our body in the short term, as happened to Georgina Rodríguez, motivates us to continue. "It's important that our goal is to take care of ourselves. Let's leave aside a concrete prototype of beauty. The important thing is to have a healthy and strong body. Our advice is to do sports, have fun and see the results, they will come alone, "advocates the instructor of fitboxing, a sport that especially hooks women. "They leave the sessions motivated, with their batteries charged and wanting to take on the world."

Good proof of this, in addition to Georgina herself, is the list of celebrities who practice it, from the Spanish Pilar Rubio, Paula Echevarría and Elsa Pataky to international models such as Adriana Lima or the singer Jennifer López. And all of them boast of body. "It is very complete," explains Blanco, working both the upper and lower train. "The result is a balanced and toned figure."

His advice is to try it. "They will enjoy the first class to the fullest. You will see that it is demanding but everyone can set the pace with which they want to start." The experience of putting on gloves and giving the sack is very rewarding, "that's why it empowers," continues the master trainer. There are 47 minutes in which it does not stop, but the whole body is worked. The choreographies change from time to time and involve functional exercises. "It's a good way to get your homework done." If they start now, cheer up, in summer they will have their best, healthier and stronger version. "In a single session, up to a thousand kilocalories are lost, depending on the morphology and lifestyle of the person," says Blanco.

THREE TRAINING SESSIONS A WEEK

Now, from Brooklyn Fitboxing they will always support the constant and maintained sports practice over time, instead of an express bikini operation, "because it is what will impact our health in the long term". But it is true that it is one of the sports practices that provides results in less time. It happens with other High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), such as CrossFit. "It is a high-intensity training that combines cardiovascular exercise with strength. This is the way to activate our metabolism."

By getting our muscles in shape we will burn more calories, this helps us to tone them, and also to lose weight if necessary, he clarifies, always complemented with a good diet. "If we practice only cardio we will lose weight but we will not tone in the same way." Blanco recommends "at least three sessions a week if we want to achieve visible results and support it with a balanced diet." Because, remember, losing weight implies a caloric deficit (eating fewer calories than consumed or spending more through exercise). That is why it is preferable to do it with the help of a professional so that there is no anxiety, lack of nutrients or go hungry or there is an even worse rebound effect.

Georgina Rodríguez has more than enough means to hire a good personal trainer for this but collective classes can also be a solution with the desire to create the habit, feel that we improve and experience those benefits of the feeling of belonging to the group, the collective sacrifice that generates an overcoming, the constant rest and the evasion of the problems of day to day. "That the younger generations see that their referents have healthy lifestyle habits is fundamental," concludes Blanco.

In addition, the fact that he practices a sport that has traditionally been identified with men is also very positive, he adds: "There are no sports for women and men, we can all benefit from sports."
