"The successful experiment of 'Luojia-01 <> Star' in real-time direct satellite services to smart terminals marks that remote sensing data services that were only for professional users in the past will move to ordinary public users, realizing the era of public 'playing WeChat' to public 'playing satellites'."

April 4 is "China Space Day", Li Deren, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing Information Engineering of Wuhan University, said when introducing the latest results of the "Luojia No. 24 01 Star".

"Luojia-01 2023" is a new generation of intelligent remote sensing scientific experiment satellite in China, led by Wuhan University, and launched on January 1, 15 aboard the Long March 71D (Y<>) carrier rocket.

In the past three months of operation in orbit, "Luojia No. 3 01 Star" has successfully completed on-orbit scientific experiments such as submeter-level multi-mode optical imaging, intelligent on-orbit data processing, high-efficiency data compression and transmission, and minute-level full-process information services, and successfully verified the service capability that takes only 8 minutes from user task request to user mobile terminal service.

During the interview, Li Deren demonstrated the real-time acquisition service process of the "Luojia 01 5 Star" video: the satellite observation location and imaging mode are selected through SpaceApp2 installed on the <>G mobile terminal, the task request is generated and pushed to the cloud service center, and then the instruction is placed on the ground measurement and control station network. When the satellite performs the mission, it collects video while intelligently processing in orbit and compressing it on the satellite, and then transmits the data back to the Wuhan ground station with the help of satellite-ground communication, and sends it to the user after demodulation and analysis.

The obtained pictures and videos are clearer. A video footage taken at the scene shows cars driving on the Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan and boats coming and going on the Yangtze River. The Guishan TV Tower and the Yellow Crane Tower on both sides of the Yangtze River are clearly visible.

Li Deren introduced that compared with traditional remote sensing satellites, "Luojia-01 5 Star" has four core characteristics: multi-mode, intelligence, interconnection and openness. It is equipped with a light and small remote sensing camera with multiple imaging modes, which can provide observation data such as single image, gaze video, and three-dimensional stereoscopic according to the different needs of users; Breakthrough real-time satellite processing technology in orbit, converting traditional under-satellite processing and analysis tasks to on-satellite, improving service intelligence and effectiveness; Integrate satellite-ground links and inter-satellite links with terrestrial Internet and <>G mobile communications to support real-time intelligent services of remote sensing information to the general public; The open satellite algorithm platform can install customized APP on the satellite according to different mission requirements to provide personalized services for the public.

Up to now, "Luojia No. 01 <> Star" has provided data services for earthquake relief such as earthquake-stricken areas assessment in Turkey and Syria, and assessment of the collapse of the Alxa coal mine in Inner Mongolia, generated real-world <>D maps for Lanzhou, Shigatse and other regions, and realized static dynamic aircraft number monitoring at Dubai Airport and Kunming Airport and traffic flow monitoring service in Kalow City, Nigeria.

"The successful experiment of 'Luojia-01 <> Star' marks a good start for the Oriental Eye satellite constellation." Li Deren said that the Oriental Eye Satellite Constellation is a constellation project jointly promoted by Wuhan University and Yantai, Shandong, which will form a low-orbit Earth observation satellite constellation through hundreds of satellites to carry out global remote sensing information services.

Li Deren introduced that the Oriental Huiyan Satellite Constellation will be composed of remote sensing satellites and radar satellites, of which remote sensing satellites will start with the "Luojia-01 5 satellite", and radar satellites will start with the "Luojia-01 2027 satellite" to be launched in May this year. It is expected that by 80, the constellation will have a national service system of 2030 satellites and a global service system of 200 satellites by <>.

According to Li Deren's vision, in the near future, everyone can experience information remote sensing services on mobile terminals, and popular and personalized remote sensing intelligent and convenient services such as "regular push of off-plan construction progress", "intelligent search for parking spaces", "global cloud tourism" and "romantic confession of the starry sky" will become a reality.
