Shenyang, April 4 (Zhongxin.com) -- In order to strengthen the training of young intellectual property talents and improve the legal practice ability of young intellectual property talents in the new era, in conjunction with the theme of the National Intellectual Property Publicity Week "Strengthening the Protection of Intellectual Property Rule of Law and Strongly Supporting Comprehensive Innovation", the 17th Liaoning Province Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition for College Students recently kicked off.
This year's competition attracted young intellectual property students from 18 universities across the country to sign up, and the participating students took the form of a lottery to serve as the representatives of the plaintiff and the defendant respectively. During the mock trial, professionals from the Shenyang High-tech Zone People's Court, Shenyang Intellectual Property Protection Center and other units formed a collegial panel, and the two sides presented and cross-examined evidence around the focus of the dispute and combined with the evidence in the case, and the debate was fierce. The judges of the collegial panel have carried out court investigations step by step and at every level. After each competition, the judging judge gave an objective, fair and professional comment, from the omission of the evidence to the skill of the cross-examination session, from the details of the debate session to the interaction between the contestants and the judge, all objectively evaluated the students' performance and pointed out the shortcomings.

The organizing committee of the competition promotes learning through the competition and does its best to let young students experience the whole process of adjudication of intellectual property cases. In the end, the four teams of Liaoning University, Northeastern University, Jilin University and Northwest University entered the semifinals after fierce preliminary and semi-final rounds. The semi-finals and finals of this year's competition will be held on April 4 and 21.
The competition was sponsored by the Intellectual Property Law Research Association of Liaoning Law Society, the People's Court of Shenyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Liaoning Zhongke Technology Transfer Center, and Duan and Duan (Shenyang) Law Firm. It is understood that the Liaoning Province College Students Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition, which began in 2018, is one of the largest national moot court competitions in the field of intellectual property protection in China.

According to reports, 2023 is an important year for Liaoning Province to deeply implement the strategy of strengthening the country through science and education and accelerate the construction of intellectual property talents.
