Regarding former member of the House of Councillors Garcy, who has been issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of repeatedly threatening celebrities on a video posting site, the Metropolitan Police Department has been found to be coordinating to dispatch investigators to the UAE = United Arab Emirates, where the former lawmaker is believed to be staying. The Metropolitan Police Department believes that the former lawmaker is unlikely to return to Japan and will ask local authorities to cooperate with the investigation.

Former member of the House of Councillors Garcy, real name Yoshikazu Higashitani (51), is suspected of repeatedly threatening and slandering celebrities and businessmen on video posting sites last year, and the Metropolitan Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant on suspicion of habitual threats to violate the Violent Acts and Punishment Law.

As for former Rep. Ghasey, who is believed to be staying in the UAE = United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an order to return his passport by the 13th of this month, and the former lawmaker said on the 10th on a video distribution site on SNS, "I intend to return it, but I lost my passport, so I am looking for it."

On the other hand, the Metropolitan Police Department believes that the former lawmaker is unlikely to return to Japan, and it is unclear how far the UAE will cooperate with the investigation, including deportation, so it has become clear that it is coordinating to dispatch investigators to the site.

According to those involved in the investigation, the dispatch is expected to be after the end of this month, when Ramadan, the Islamic fasting month, ends, and they will explain to the local authorities that the incident is suspected of involving a former parliamentarian and request their cooperation in the investigation.

In addition, the Metropolitan Police Department is applying to ICPO = International Criminal Police Organization through the National Police Agency for international arrangements for former Rep. Garcy, and if the procedure goes smoothly, it is expected to be internationally arranged soon.
