Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, 60, will receive the "Women in Motion" award at the Cannes Film Festival in May, in honor of women in cinema. In March, she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in "Everything Everywhere All At Once."

Two months after her Oscar for best actress, the first awarded to an Asian performer, Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, 60, will receive in May at the Cannes Film Festival the "Women in Motion" award, in honor of women in cinema.

"Malaysian-born, internationally renowned actress and producer, Michelle Yeoh has been challenging conventions for decades. By embodying complex and determined female roles on screen, she has contributed to fighting gender and age stereotypes in cinema," the organizers said in a statement.

Academy Award for Best Actress

The James Bond actress Tomorrow Never Dies and Tiger and Dragon won the Oscar for Best Actress in March for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. The "Women in Motion" prize was created in Cannes by the luxury group Kering in 2015 and awarded to Jane Fonda, Isabelle Huppert and Viola Davis.
