APPOINTMENT WITH HISTORY IN TOLEDO

Since the inauguration of the Spanish replica of the historic theme park of Puy du Fou in the Castilian-Leonese capital in 2021 (the pioneer is in France), the novelties have not ceased in its facilities. The season that starts today was not going to be less, with the premiere of The Mystery of Sorbaces, a show inspired by the time of Recaredo, Leovigildo and a treasure that changed the course of History forever. It is just one of the shows – both day and day – that attendees can enjoy, including The Last Song, A Pen and Sword, Beyond the Ocean Sea, The Wandering of the Centuries, Falconry of Kings or The Dream of Toledo, the jewel in the crown with which Puy du Fou began its adventure in Spain in 2019 before becoming a theme park. The complex, of 30 hectares and awarded more than 30 times, also houses different towns of the time such as Villanueva del Corral, Venta de Isidro or Arrabal, which recreate the way of life of yesteryear in our country. Do not forget the gastronomic offer of its inns, mansions and wineries to discover ancestral dishes. Learn more at www.puydufou.com

EASTER TO MADRID

Madrid squeezes these dates to the maximum, either in the streets, with the processions of La borriquita, Los estudiantes, el Cristo de los Alabarderos or Jesús el pobre; in restaurants, with their stews and torrijas; or in hotels, which prepare special plans. Like the Rosewood Villa Magna, which offers to personalize the stay with experiences related to this time and discounts of 10% in the spa or in the restaurant Las Brasas de Castellana. In this sense, it serves two types of snacks. From April 3 to 6, Flor y crème, with a variety of savory and sweet snacks, among which there is no shortage of popular chocolate Easter eggs. The red fruit torrija with chantilly and the Easter Eclair dessert are the protagonists of the mid-afternoon plan on April 8 and 9. This five-star hotel also surprises with a Sunday brunch on the 9th in which the little ones can enjoy the egg hunt in the hotel gardens. Learn more at www.rosewoodhotels.com

NAVARRE BETWEEN SLEDS AND BIRDS OF PREY

The Sendaviva nature park, located next to the Bardenas Reales de Navarra, inaugurates the 2023 season with the celebration of its 20th anniversary. On the occasion of this special date, the complex of 120 hectares of extension presents new attractions (the total number reaches 25), shows, exhibitions and musical shows. In this way, Sendaviva is presented as one of the largest offers of family leisure in the middle of nature in our country. And of all Europe, being one of the largest parks of this type in the Old Continent. It is home to 200 species of animals. Many can be seen in shows such as the exhibition of the flight of 40 birds of prey. Among the star proposals of this year, the return of the Bobsleigh (descent in sleigh) and the Great Zip Line stand out, which allows you to travel 650 meters at 70 km / h. In addition, the 20 years of the park will be remembered in a sample of photographs and videos. On the other hand, in the new People's Auditorium there will be live music. MAGIC BASIN

In addition to flavor -this year it wears the title of Gastronomic Capital-, Cuenca displays a lot of natural plans perfect for the whole family. There are several essentials. From taking an excursion through the sickles of the city following a circular route that includes the historic center, to taking a canoe ride on the Júcar River. Without forgetting an authentic jewel: the MUPA or Paleontological Museum of Castilla-La Mancha, whose restaurant has fantastic views of this World Heritage city. If we have a car it is also worth entering the mountains. And just half an hour away awaits the Enchanted City, a spectacular place full of geological formations so unusual that they leave you with your mouth open. Learn more at www.visitacuenca.es

TENERIFE WITH THE FAMILY

For getaways with children, the Canary Islands are a mine. A mine of plans and emotions. In Tenerife, in particular, the days seem to last more than 24 hours. It would not be unreasonable to go out by boat in the morning to spot cetaceans. It is an ideal experience because the cheerful pilot whales live all year round in these waters and watching them closely from a deck is unforgettable. And, in the afternoon, after a swim on the beach, why not go up to enjoy the sunset in the Teide National Park. Wanting more? There is no problem, star tourism is fashionable and seeing Venus through a telescope awakens the imagination of anyone. Learn more at www.webtenerife.com
