【Commentary】A handful of yellow mud, a few brushes, and a flip in the hand, one by one, the antique Majiayao painted pottery has a prototype in the hands of Yan Jianlin, the inheritor of the faience technique.

Yan Jianlin's home is located at the foot of the Majiayao Ruins Area in Lintao County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province. Recently, the reporter walked into his home, and rows of beautifully made Majiayao faience were placed in the house, in the corners and courtyards. Yan Jianlin said that in the past, the Lintao Majia Kiln was very famous in the outside world, but he lived here but had never seen real painted pottery, and could only explore the "restoration" in pictures and written materials.

When I first started doing it, I didn't know what it was, and I turned my hair white. When I first started painting faience, I picked up the pen and painted it all around, which was ugly and ugly.

【Commentary】Restoring ancient faience is not an easy task, and there are many technical problems that need to be solved one by one from "a blank piece of paper". At the beginning, it is always wrong to fire it, so I smash it one by one, re-adjust the pigment, paint and burn again, and after many attempts, I gradually began to master the "original taste" of ancient pottery.

From soil selection to production, including painting and kiln firing, we make according to this style of ancient pottery. Pottery made from this clay more than 5,000 years ago, and now we still use pottery made from this clay more than 5,000 years ago, so the soil is original, but the age is different. Including patterns, the patterns are the patterns on all the materials we refer to and the patterns of ancient pottery in the major museums.

【Commentary】Today, Yan Jianlin can skillfully produce thousands of different patterns and different shapes.

Some people call it double horn pattern, some people call it the opposite swallow, this is the fish pattern, this is the triangle pattern, this is the parallel pattern, also called water ripple. Why is it called parallel lines, the water is parallel when there are no waves in this Tao River, but when there are waves, it becomes water ripples, and the earliest human beings painted this painting according to nature.

【Commentary】Whenever he meets people who come to visit, Yan Jianlin will enthusiastically introduce him for a long time, and he hopes to use his own hands to let more people see the splendid charm of the faience culture 5,000 years ago.
