It is the earliest mountain opening in Fukushima Prefecture.
Before the full-fledged climbing season, the mountain was opened at "Sekisan" in Shirakawa City on the 26th, and families and others enjoyed climbing immediately while it was raining.

The 619-meter-high Sekiyama in Shirakawa City is said to have been climbed by haiku poet Matsuo Basho, known for his "Oku no Hosomichi."

Unfortunately, it rained on the 26th, but many families and mountaineering enthusiasts from inside and outside the prefecture came to the summit wearing raincoats and other equipment, paying attention to their feet.

When I reached the summit in about an hour, I took a commemorative photo in front of a sign with the height of the mountain and bought local buns sold in a temporary tent at the summit.

A man in his 1s who visited from Showa Village in Fukushima Prefecture said, "It was my first time climbing Mt. Sekiyama in three years, so it was hard but fun."

Yoshiharu Nemoto, chairman of the Sekiyama Mountain Opening Executive Committee, said, "We are glad that many people came while it was raining, and there are beginner courses that even small children can enjoy climbing, so please come and visit."
