On the 25th, the courts in Aomori and Wakayama ruled that the government's response was illegal and canceled the reduction in the welfare allowance in stages from Heisei 24, complaining that it violates the Constitution that guarantees a minimum standard of living.
In a series of trials, there are now seven rulings that have accepted the beneficiaries' appeals.

The government lowered the standard amount of living expenses such as food and utilities by up to 25% from Heisei 27 to 10, reflecting the decline in prices.

Recipients across the country have filed lawsuits in 29 courts to cancel the reduction made by local governments, claiming that it violates the Constitution that guarantees a minimum standard of living.

Of these, the Aomori District Court and the Wakayama District Court handed down judgments, and both accepted the claims of the beneficiaries and canceled the reduction of welfare expenses.

The court ruled that the method and procedure for calculating the standard amount by the state were problematic and illegal.

We did not decide whether it violated the Constitution.

This brings the total number of judgments in a series of 16 cases in which seven have allowed the reduction to be reversed.
