In order to raise the welcoming mood ahead of the G5 Hiroshima Summit in May, a concert was held in Hiroshima City to perform songs related to the countries participating in the Summit.

The G7 Hiroshima Summit will be held for three days from May 5 to 19.

In order to raise the welcoming mood ahead of the summit, a concert was held on the 21st at a plaza in the underground shopping mall in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City.

Four groups, including music college students, high school students, and chorus members, participated in the concert and performed songs related to the countries participating in the summit.

Among them, students at music colleges sang English religious songs, French opera songs, songs used in Italian films, etc., and played on an electronic organ.

Also on display at the venue was an A-bombed piano that was located near the hypocenter when the atomic bomb was dropped and escaped burning.

Visitors listened to the beautiful research and applauded loudly.

A 76-year-old man in the city said, "It was a wonderful performance, and I want people overseas who will visit in two months to know the damage caused by the atomic bomb and how much the city can recover."

Yosuke Morioka, manager of the Peace and Youth Participation Promotion Division of the Hiroshima Summit Prefectural Council Secretariat, who hosted the concert, said, "We hope that this will be an opportunity to rethink the charm of Hiroshima and peace, and to raise the momentum for the summit."
