At present, internship practice experience has become a "must-fill item" for most job seekers and a "plus" in the eyes of enterprises in the job resume. In the context of increasing employment pressure, the "involvement" of internships is also accelerating, and many college students advance internships to freshman and sophomore years. However, it is not easy to get a "high value" internship experience. Experts believe that to help college students find employment, we must first help them take the first step into the workplace of "internship practice".

"There were seven or eight recruitment software installed on the phone, countless positions were invested, and not a suitable internship was found." Recently, on a social platform, a netizen left a message.

Recruitment activities in various places have started hotly, and many employers have released the latest recruitment notices. Before graduation season, prospective graduates are polishing their resumes, hoping to find a job as soon as possible. In the resume, internship experience has become a "must-fill" for most job seekers and a "plus" in the eyes of corporate personnel managers.

However, getting a great internship experience and job resume is not easy. Many college students reported that it is difficult to find internships, especially "high-content" internships, and without the resources and introductions of schools and mentors, friends and friends, the cost of finding internships on their own is high and the gains are very limited. Experts interviewed said that to help college students find employment, we must first help them take the first step into the workplace of "internship practice".

The internship is advanced to the first and second years

"Internship experience is a 'required item' in the job resume, if there is a blank piece of paper, how can I be said to be hired by the employer?" 20-year-old Zuo Jiaqi told reporters that she learned from her senior brothers and sisters that many graduates will carefully list their internship experience when looking for a job in order to match the employment needs of the recruitment unit, which makes her feel the importance of internship in advance.

Zuo Jiaqi, a junior in Wuhan, interned at a media outlet for more than a month last summer. "It is very helpful for me to understand the actual work, and next, I hope to intern at the 'Internet Factory' to feel the different work content and atmosphere from the previous internship, and also want to consider my work ability through the internship and plan my own employment direction." She said.

In the past two years, under the background of increasing employment pressure, the "involvement" of internships has also accelerated, and many college students have advanced internships to freshman and sophomore years. Participating in internship practice is a "first move" in the workplace, which has formed a consensus among college students. According to the "Internship Survey of Students in School 2022" released by a recruitment platform, ninety percent of the surveyed students recognized the practical help of internship for employment, and 47.4% of the surveyed students already had internship experience in their freshman and sophomore years.

How to find an internship? Many of the interviewed college students said that the channels are roughly divided into three categories: relying on the introduction of acquaintances such as teachers and relatives and friends, the help of schools and colleges to contact, and submitting resumes to find themselves.

"The internship at the undergraduate level is introduced by the school, and the internship at the graduate level is found by myself." Li Yanxia, who is studying for a doctoral degree at a university in Beijing, told reporters. In her opinion, internships introduced by the school, looking for low-cost and mostly professional counterparts, are very much needed for students.

"Internship experience is an important 'plus' for job seekers, especially under the same academic ability, those with rich and solid internship experience have more advantages." Jiang Qiaolin, a senior human resources consultant, said in an interview with a reporter from the "Workers' Daily".

It cost more than 3,<> yuan and only did some "miscellaneous" work

Although internship experience is important, it is not easy to find an internship with "gold content".

Meng Xiaoyu, a senior in Jilin, majored in journalism and communication, and during the summer vacation last year, her family asked a friend to find her an internship at a Beijing TV station.

"It was not easy for me to come to Beijing for an internship in a large unit, and I cherish this opportunity." Meng Xiaoyu said that she has been living in Beijing for half a year, spending nearly 2,3 yuan on renting a house, plus travel expenses and living expenses, a total of more than <>,<> yuan, and her income is not as much as it costs, but she basically does some "miscellaneous" work such as helping to send and receive documents, printing and copying, and has not really touched professional content.

The reporter found that on social platforms, many college students left similar feelings to Meng Xiaoyu - "The school does not recommend internships, and needs Haitou resumes to wait for interviews, often with few responses", "I have no internship experience in the past, and when I first look for an internship, I feel more difficult" "Some internships have no salary, basically belong to paid internships, and labor rights and interests are not guaranteed"...

There is also feedback from college students, "Some good internship positions need trust relationships to enter." "Some students will choose positions that do not match their majors in order to have a better resume. The 2022 "Shanghai College Student Internship Practice Survey" also shows that more than seventy percent of Shanghai college students need to find their own internship units, and only 40.86% of internship directions are completely related to their majors, and sixty percent of students can accept internships that are not related to their majors or are slightly related.

How to evaluate the "gold content" of the internship? Jiang Qiaolin pointed out that it is necessary to consider the company's brand power, the matching degree between job seekers and the position hired, and the participation and completion of internships.

Liu Junzhen, a professor at the Business School of Nankai University, said that at present, internship opportunities in leading enterprises are limited, internship guarantees in small enterprises are not perfect, and students are prone to the phenomenon of "high but not low" when looking for internships on their own. In addition, the irregular operation of intermediaries in the labor market and the mixing of network information have increased the difficulty for students to find internships with "gold content".

Various parties have contributed to solve the difficulties of internship

During the interview, many of the interviewed students said that they have limited understanding of the job market information, and hope that schools, enterprises, governments, etc. can intervene more to guide and help students in need to better obtain internship information and connect with enterprises in need.

"At present, school-enterprise cooperation meets the internship needs of many vocational school students, but for ordinary colleges and universities, the cooperation model with enterprises is not yet mature." Liu Junzhen believes that for enterprises, there may be no time to design, organize and arrange college students for internships, and schools can take the initiative to do some work. For example, enterprises are invited to conduct seminars on campus to promote the matching of students' internship needs with the employment needs of enterprises; Design an innovative cooperation model with a closer relationship with enterprises, set up more social practice and enterprise practice courses, let enterprise topics enter the classroom, and help college students go out of school.

At the same time, some experts believe that the integration of industry and education needs more support, and the government can encourage enterprises to establish more internships through policy preferences or subsidies.

In fact, in 2022, in order to provide sufficient internship opportunities for college graduates and improve the standardization and attractiveness of employment and internship, ten departments such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Education jointly launched the "Million Employment Apprenticeship Recruitment Plan". In order to encourage enterprises to absorb trainees, the monthly apprenticeship subsidy of 2500,70 yuan is borne by the government for <>%.

Jiang Qiaolin believes that schools should pay attention to changes in industry trends, strengthen job market research and judgment, and accurately match the shortage of talents in the job market in curriculum design. At the same time, enterprises should plan for the training of interns and sign internship agreements to ensure that they can truly learn skills and improve their abilities.

"Find the right positioning and take the initiative." Jiang Qiaolin suggested that college students should clarify their career direction as soon as possible, and actively look for internships with the right professional direction through various channels such as participating in offline job fairs and searching for online information, "Don't be too obsessed with large companies, you can choose small and medium-sized enterprises for internships in a timely manner and find training opportunities that suit you."
