Regarding the BRT = Bus Rapid Transit System connecting central Tokyo and the waterfront area, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will expand its routes to Toyosu and Ariake from the 1st of next month.

In order to meet the demand for transportation in coastal areas with a growing population, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government began operating BRT three years ago on a route connecting Toranomon in Minato Ward and Harumi in Chuo Ward, a transportation system that connects two vehicles to run a bus.

After that, as a result of the development of new stops, we will expand the operation route from the 3st of next month as preparations are completed.

Specifically, the existing route will be extended to Toyosu Market, and a new route will be established from Shimbashi to the International Exhibition Center in the direction of Ariake and Tokyo Teleport Station.

From next spring, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government plans to establish a new route to access the area lined with condominiums on the site of the former Olympic and Paralympic Village for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

After that, we would like to start full-fledged BRT operation, such as using dedicated lanes to prioritize bus runs.
