An annual octopus frying contest was held in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, and enthusiasts from all over the country, including the local "Managu kite," colored the sky with various octopuses.

This takoage competition is held every year by a group of takoage enthusiasts in Yuzawa City, and about 66 people from all over Japan participated in the 100th year.

Among them, the "Managu kite" handed down in Yuzawa City, which is characterized by a large eyeball pattern drawn in ink on Japanese paper, fluttered slightly from side to side in the wind and soared into the sky.

In addition, the "Tsugaru kite" flown by a group of enthusiasts in Aomori Prefecture was painted with colorful warrior paintings and beautiful women's paintings, and when it was lifted into the sky, it made a loud "buzzing" sound.

Many families also visited the venue, and the children enjoyed takoage while running hard to catch the wind.

A participating enthusiast said, "I am thrilled when my own calluses are lifted into the sky, and it is so much fun that I lose track of time."
