Actor Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's autobiographical story "Tot-chan at the Window" will be made into a movie for the first time as an animated film.

"Tot-chan at the Window" is an autobiographical story written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi based on her childhood experiences, and since its release in 1981, it has been translated into more than 20 languages, and the cumulative circulation is more than 2500 million in Japan and overseas.

It portrays the protagonist Tot, who was expelled from elementary school due to restlessness, and transfers to Tomoe Gakuen, which once existed in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, and leads a lively school life.

An animated film based on this "Tot-chan at the Window" will be produced.

According to Toho, Kuroyanagi's intention was not to "destroy the reader's image," so it had not been made into a movie until now, but this time it was realized when animation director Shinnosuke Yakuwa proposed an anime adaptation.

According to Toho, it will be released this winter.

Ms. Kuroyanagi commented on the film adaptation, "I am looking forward to the image I wrote because I think it will work well in anime, and I hope that the children who saw this film will find it interesting."
