At the beginning of Jin Yong's martial arts novel "Dragon Babu", Duan Yu accidentally broke into the "Sword Lake Palace" after falling off the cliff. It is said that the prototype of the "Sword Lake" in the book is the Sword Lake of Jianchuan.
Jianhu, the most representative typical wetland of the Northwest Yunnan Plateau, known as the "Pearl of the Plateau", is the mother lake of Jianchuan, and as early as the Bronze Age, it gave birth to prehistoric settlements represented by the Haimenkou site. At the same time, it is also an important gathering point and resting place on the migration route of Chinese migratory birds, and a wintering habitat for migratory waterfowl.

Laojun Mountain is one of the eight major areas of the world natural heritage "Three Parallel Rivers", known as the "ancestor of the Dianshan Mountains" by historians, a plateau ice erosion lake known as the Ninety-nine Dragon Pool, and a sea of azaleas known as the Rhododendron Kingdom, which is a primeval forest park full of mystery.

There are 74 species of rhododendron here. From April to July every year, from the river valley at an altitude of about 4,7 meters to the alpine area at an altitude of nearly 2200,4000 meters, various rhododendrons open one after another, decorating the slopes and valleys like a fairyland.

Jianchuan Shibao Mountain, as its name suggests, takes stone as a treasure, and even has the "miracle" of "stone blossom", and was listed as the first batch of key scenic spots in the country in 1986.
In the hinterland of Shibaoshan Mountain, there is a grotto known as the "Treasure of Southern Heaven" - Shibaoshan Grottoes. The grottoes are carved on the cliff wall, a total of 16 caves, about <> statues, most of which are works of the Nanzhao Dali period, the content is mainly based on the Nanzhao royal court life and Buddhism, which can be described as a "history of the Nanzhao Dali Kingdom carved on stone", which is unique to the southwest region and Yungang, Longmen, Dazu and other famous grottoes.

On Shibao Mountain, the thousand-year-old string song continues. Every year from the 28th of February to the beginning of August of the lunar calendar, the Bai people from Jianchuan, Eryuan, Lijiang and other places will gather in Shibaoshan to play strings to the tune, sing dolls, or burn incense to worship Buddha in various temples. With a history of thousands of years, the Shibao Mountain Song Festival is a national intangible cultural heritage and a long-standing and large-scale national traditional festival.

Thousand Lion Mountain is famous for more than 3,000 stone lions carved with precision. They are either leaning against rocks, or jumping on thousands of stone walls, or standing on the side of the road to welcome guests... Thousands of shapes and lifelike. The number and size of the stone lions in Thousand Lion Mountain are rare in the world, attracting more and more tourists.
Accompanied by insects and birds, the sound of the wind, and the clanging of spring water, even the famous traveler and geographer Xu Xiake lingered here because he "loved its seclusion" and "wrote notes for half a day in the pavilion".

In the western Yunnan area, there is a long-standing folk song, "Lijiang Zhuohe celebrates wine, Jianchuan carpenters everywhere", which shows that Jianchuan wood carving atmosphere has been strong since ancient times, and there are many wood carvers.

The ancient building has cornices and angles, and beams and columns are connected by fangs. As far as Dali Binchuan Jizu Mountain and as far as the Forbidden City in Beijing, Jianchuan carpenters have traveled south and north for thousands of years, engraving the reputation of Jianchuan wood carving in the long river of history. "Carved the golden dragon to dance in the air, cut out the golden rooster to report the five changes, carved into a hundred birds and singing on the branches, carved flowers to attract bees..." The exquisite and expressive skills of Jianchuan wood carving can also be perceived from the chanting of this Jianchuan white song.

Pounding, carving, the stubborn stones between the mountains and forests, because of the polishing of the craftsman's hands, are endowed with life and soul. The "Jianchuan County Record" records that during the Tang and Song Dynasties, Jianchuan craftsmen engaged in the carving project of "Shizhongshan Grottoes" that shocked China and abroad. Since then, the stone carving craft of Jianchuan has been passed down from generation to generation, and Shizhongshan Grottoes have also been included in the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units together with Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.
"Carved stone dragons to dance in the air, carved stone flowers to attract bees, carved stone people to laugh, race ghosts!" This ballad highly praises the superb carving skills of Jianchuan stone carving.
Famous song: White song
A song sings a thousand years, a thousand years sing a song. Jianchuan Baiqu is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Bai people, which can be called the encyclopedia of the Bai people, and has extremely valuable value for the study of Bai history, language, folklore, etc.
White curved valley, mountains laughing. In Jianchuan, everyone from four-year-olds to eighty-year-olds sing white songs. Zhao Huali, a poet of the Bai tribe of Jianchuan in the Qing Dynasty, wrote in his "Chaoshan Song", "Three camps of prodigal sons and three strings, the song of the Jingman Mountain is broken and repeated, the bodhisattva lowers the Maitreya and laughs, and the uncovered assembly is helpless", which truly records the grandeur of the Baiqu singing hundreds of years ago.
