The Enoshima Electric Railway, which runs through Fujisawa City and Kamakura City in Kanagawa Prefecture, revised its timetable from the 18th in order to ensure on-time operation. This is the first large-scale revision of the timetable in 71 years.

According to Enoshima Electric Railway, with this revision of the timetable, the operation of trains that used to be every 12 minutes will be changed to every 14 minutes, and the number of trains per day will be reduced from 1 to 181.

At Enoshima Station, on the night of the 17th, when the last train service ended, preparations were underway by replacing the timetable with a new one and installing QR codes that showed the location information of the trains.

Since the Enoshima Electric Railway is a single track, delays on some trains will affect other trains, but with this revision of the timetable, it will be possible to reduce the impact on the whole and ensure on-time operation by extending the stopping time at Kamakura Station and Enoshima Station.

This is the first large-scale revision of the timetable in 71 years.

Kenji Fukuhara, Assistant Manager of the Transportation Division of the Enoshima Electric Railway Department, said, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers due to delays due to congestion, but we expect to ensure on-time operation due to the revision of the timetable, so we would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation."
