"In the sun, along the rows of corn"
The adventure drama by Sarik Andreasyan shows the real feat of the commander of the Airbus A321 Damir Yusupov.
In August 2019, a plane flying on the Moscow-Simferopol route with 226 passengers and seven crew members on board had both engines damaged shortly after takeoff due to a collision with a flock of seagulls.
Yusupov managed to land the liner in a cornfield and avoid human casualties.
The title of the tape contains a fragment of the phrase of the senior flight attendant Dmitry Ivlitsky, uttered during the evacuation of passengers: “Let's go to the right, into the sun, along the rows of corn.”
The script for the film was written by Alexei Gravitsky, who previously worked with the director on the projects Earthquake, Unforgiven, Goodbye America and others.
Work on the film began in the spring of 2022, filming began in the summer and lasted until February 2023.
During this time, the film has been remade several times.
“We, however, took this work very scrupulously.
Moreover, we remade it several times after showing it to various focus groups.
And in the end, they achieved the fact that the film received a high rating.
Therefore, now I can say that we are very pleased with the result, ”the Regional Newspaper quotes the director.
The main role in the tape was played by Yegor Beroev.
At the stage of choosing an actor, the director received a lot of wishes to pay attention to him.
In addition, Damir Yusupov himself suggested in one of the programs that Beroev could play him.
“Egor and I became very good friends, we still keep in touch.
I believe that he completely coped with his task - in the film he really looks very much like me, ”said the pilot.
"Sergius against evil spirits: Sabbath"
In the feature film, the sequel to the 2022 mini-series, Roman Mayakin and Lukerya Ilyashenko will continue the fight against evil spirits.
Ghouls, brownies, Serpent Gorynych, Viy, Vodyanoy and other folk vermin are invited to the solemn Sabbat.
Father Sergiy and investigator Katya will try to send the whole bunch to hell, and the heroine Irina Rozanova will help them.
Along the way, the characters will build relationships with each other.
New characters will be played by Igor Zhizhikin, Nino Ninidze, Oleg Vasilkov and others.
The former team worked on the tape - director Kirill Kuzin, screenwriters Evgeny Rusak and Kirill Sitnikov.
The franchise's first project was awarded the "Master of Genre Blending" award at the Pilot TV Series Festival.
According to Mayakin, "Sergius against evil spirits" is a cool fantasy comic with elements of black humor.
"Medea"
A new domestic experimental work in the horror genre is a modern interpretation of the history of the ancient Greek goddess and wife of Jason - Medea.
The plot of the tape revolves around a woman named Liza, who grew up in an orphanage.
She has two sons and is trying to get on with her life after her divorce.
Having survived the consequences of a break with her husband and returning to her usual track, Lisa suddenly receives a call that changes her whole life.
On the phone, a woman who calls herself her aunt says that the family has a curse that is transmitted through the maternal line - all children in the family are doomed to death.
The only way to save children from death is to escape from them.
The central roles in the film were played by Olga Simonova, Kirill Kolpachkov, Nikita Kolpachkov, as well as Paulina Andreeva and Kirill Polukhin.
According to producer Polina Zadorozhnaya, the film is not a classic tragic story of the heroine of an ancient myth.
The authors were inspired by such films as “Mother” by Andres Muschietti, “Reincarnation” by Ari Aster and “Others” by Alejandro Amenabar.
“Our picture is Medea the Changeling.
It's about inner fears.
The script was written by Vasily Sigarev, and this already indicates that something very creepy and characteristic of the author’s work awaits the audience, ”Zadorozhnaya said in an interview with RussoRosso.
"My Sun" (Aftersun)
The feature-length debut of Charlotte Wells, filmed from her own script, takes up the theme of parent-child relationships.
The story is revealed from the side of a grown daughter, who reminisces about the time spent with her father.
According to the director, although the picture is fiction, when writing the script, she relied on her experience of growing up.
“The original concept was more straightforward.
I conceived a film about a young father and his daughter on vacation;
father, who could be mistaken for her brother and with whom they are in many ways at the same time.
The grain of this idea was preserved, but I, I think, began to let my own memories, my own relationship with my father, gradually seep into the structure of the picture, ”said Wells in an interview with the MUBI portal.
The story revolves around young dad Calum (Paul Mescal) and his 11-year-old daughter Sophie (Frankie Corio).
Having survived the divorce of her parents and stayed with her mother, the girl fully enjoys spending time together with her father in a Turkish resort.
For young Sophie, a 30-year-old dad is ideal, and almost an old man in age.
Despite her intelligence and insight, she cannot understand many things related to him.
Already becoming an adult, looking through the archive and remembering the rest on the coast, she rethinks her attitude towards her father.
The film premiered at Cannes in 2022.
The picture was warmly received by both critics and the general audience: its rating on the Rotten Tomatoes portal is 96% and 81%, respectively.
Three Day Millionaire
"Millionaire for Three Days" is a black comedy about four comrades, employees of a fishing boat, who decide on a daring robbery.
After a few weeks at sea, the trawler's workers get a three-day vacation, during which they spend all their earnings on entertainment.
Soon, the comrades learn that the owner of the company intends to sell the business and leave the employees without work.
Colleagues decide to take revenge on the employer and empty his safe with a small fortune.
“Northern England can be drab and depressing, but this whole film is charged with its own optimism from the very beginning, from the very beginning the characters hope, strive for a brighter future, change the circumstances of their lives for the better.
Some questions were deliberately left unanswered, but the ending of the film is good - and this was done quite purposefully, ”the portal of the Belgrade Film Festival Fest quotes the director.
