In November 2022, Facebook's parent company Meta announced that it was laying off 11,000 employees, a figure that then corresponded to approximately 13 percent of the workforce.

Now the company is getting ready to terminate another 10,000 jobs.

On Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg published a blog post in which it appears that the company will undergo a restructuring in the coming months with a focus on creating a flatter organization.

Low-priority projects will also be terminated entirely.

"It will be tough and there is no way around it," he writes.

Zuckerberg also writes that the changes are being made to make 2023 an "effective year".

"I hope we will get through these changes as soon as possible so that we move past this uncertain period and focus on the critical work ahead."
