  Xia Wanlin, a post-90s forest ranger from the 11th Regiment of the First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is one of the guardians of this ecological forest.

  "When I first started working, the saplings in this area had just been planted, and we had to replant them for three or four consecutive years before we were able to form the current scale. Now there are Populus euphratica, Elaeagnus sativa, elm, mulberry, white wax, tamarisk, It is the home of various psammophytes such as flower sticks, licorice, wild hemp, and bitter beans." Looking at the luxuriant shelter forest in front of him, Xia Wanlin said.

  The area Xia Wanlin is in charge of is one of the most remote areas of the 11th Regiment of the First Division. He manages and protects the national public welfare forest, the "359" ecological forest, the 13th, 14th, and 15th companies of the 11th Regiment. More than 10,000 mu of forest land.

  In the past 10 years, whether it is the potholed dirt road on the edge of the desert or the weedy depths in the shelter forest, there is almost no place that he can't reach.

  "We have to patrol about 14 kilometers every day, combining driving and walking, mainly to check whether there are fires, deforestation, hunting and hunting. Sometimes we will encounter some troubles, and the car will get stuck in the undulating sand. In the field, I couldn't get out for a long time, and I got stuck in it two days ago and almost couldn't get out." Xia Wanlin said.

  Up to now, the 11th Regiment has planted 354 kilometers of forests, covering an area of ​​6,500 mu, and planted 324,800 trees. Generations of "corpsmen" have witnessed the miracle of sand control from desert to oasis with their youth.

Xia Wanlin has to patrol about 14 kilometers every day.
