Sunday March 12, 2023, Fabien Roussel was a guest on the program "8:30 p.m., Le Dimanche", presented by Laurent Delahousse on France 2. The former presidential candidate, who was alongside Alexandra Lamy on the set , was brought to discuss his family life.

He said he accompanied his 9-year-old daughter, who was hit by "hard" cancer.

The singular meeting between the communist politician and the actress gave rise to a touching exchange.

 The Chamber of Wonders,

directed by Lisa Azuelos.

"I accompanied my daughter for six months"

In this moving feature film, in theaters on Wednesday March 15, Alexandra Lamy plays the role of Thelma, a mother who realizes the list of dreams for her little boy Louis, 12, to help him get out of a coma.

The story of this character found a particular echo with Fabien Roussel.

"I was personally touched, as millions of French people will be, because, in my life, I accompanied my daughter for six months, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 9", thus confided the politician, referring to Burkitt's lymphoma from which his daughter was suffering.

"It was a hard cancer. And I know the energy that a father or a mother can put in the life of his child", underlined Fabien Roussel, visibly very moved.

The politician then congratulated Alexandra Lamy for her performance as luminous as it was moving in

 The Chamber of Wonders. 

"This film is a hymn to life, and you embody it wonderfully. We don't cry in this film. We come out with energy, fighting spirit, smiles. And that's all you!", he enthused.

Words that went straight to the heart of the actress, very touched by the testimony of Fabien Roussel.

"He said everything I wanted to say, it's wonderful! Well, well, I'm going to go," joked Alexandra Lamy, appreciated for a very long time by Fabien Roussel.
