The former representative of a consulting company accused of defrauding the government of subsidies and loans, totaling approximately 600 million yen, over the establishment of a "company-led nursery school", was accused of defrauding the company. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison for repeated crimes for working capital and personal use.

Defendant Daishi Kawasaki (55), who was the representative director of Fukuoka City's consulting company WIN Company, submitted false documents to a public interest incorporated foundation that examines the business plan of a "company-led nursery school" and received government subsidies. In addition to defrauding about 480 million yen in total, he was charged with fraud and other crimes, such as deceiving a loan of more than 100 million yen from a credit union by pretending that subsidies had been decided.

At the trial, former representative Kawasaki admitted that he defrauded the loan amount, but insisted that he was not guilty of defrauding the subsidy, and the prosecution demanded an eight-year prison sentence.

In the ruling on the 13th, presiding judge Ken Nomura of the Tokyo District Court dismissed the former representative's claim, saying, ``It is malicious that the subsidy for the maintenance of childcare facilities aimed at resolving the problem of waiting nursery schools was defrauded.'' pointed out.

On top of that, he sentenced the former representative to seven years in prison, saying that he had committed multiple crimes for the company's working capital and personal use.
