Filming of "A House Built of Shards", about an orphanage at the front in Ukraine, took place during 2019 and 2020. In January of last year, before the war broke out and Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the film premiered.

Now the film has a chance to take home an Oscar statuette for best documentary.
