On the 5th, a Taiwanese fishing boat was found capsized in the waters north of Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture.


A total of seven people, Taiwanese and Indonesian, are believed to have been on board.

According to the Ishigaki Coast Guard Office, around 1:30 pm on the 5th, the Maritime Self-Defense Force reported that there was information about a capsized ship. A ship drifting with its bottom up has been confirmed in an area of ​​about 150 km.



The boat was a Taiwanese fishing boat, and it is believed that seven people, one Taiwanese and six Indonesians, were on board.



According to Taiwanese officials, the vessel, which weighs more than 53 tons, left a fishing port in Keelung, northern Taiwan, late on the evening of the 27th of last month, local time.



The Japan Coast Guard is continuing the search with a patrol boat.
