On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the disappearance of the composer Prokofiev, Europe 1 returns to the very first musical tale in the world, "Peter and the Wolf", an educational but also political work.

This has been illustrated by many famous routes, sometimes with an astonishing cast.

David Bowie, Emmanuel Macron, Fernandel or Gérard Philipe.

They all have in common to have lent their voice to this story like no other: "Peter and the Wolf", composed 87 years ago by Sergei Prokofiev.

An essential work, often programmed at the Philharmonie de Paris by Edouard Fouré Caul Futy, co-director of the concert and show department.

"The work was a success from the start. In a Stalinist context, Prokofiev obviously sends a lot of messages, which we can read with regard to power in general and to Stalin at the time", details- he.

400 recorded versions

There are more than 400 recorded versions in all languages ​​of this Russian tale.

"And apart from this educational musical tale, there is a moral teaching type Fables de La Fontaine, since Pierre saves the wolf, preserving himself from the violence of the hunters", explains Edouard Fouré Caul Futy.

The famous tale has been declined many times, sometimes even in cartoon with the version of Walt Disney, real madeleine of Proust for a whole generation.
