Loreen and the rock band Smash into pieces became the last entry of the year to go directly to the final in last week's sub-competition.

On Saturday evening, the entries that didn't quite make it all the way will fight for the last four desirable final places in the semi-finals.

The clash takes place at Hägglund's arena in Örnsköldsvik.

"Became a little competitive person"

Unlike previous competitions, there are eight entries instead of seven, and back on stage are Elov and Beny, who advanced from the first competition in Gothenburg.

With their contribution "Raggen går" the duo has brought the epadunks hit into mello, before the semi they promise more pyro than what was seen in Gothenburg.

- It feels really good, says Elov, and bandmate Beny adds:

- We want the hell to burn.

Also the duo Nordman, who moved on from Lidköping, and their contribution "Släpp alla sorger" will be able to see.

But perhaps the most revenge-seeking is the middle veteran Mariette, who until this year had gone directly to the final at every participation without taking the detour via the semis.

- It has turned out that I have become a bit of a competitive person.

It's something new and it will be great to be tested in the semi-finals, in this context you can't take anything for granted, she says.

Pernilla Wahlgren to the Hall of Fame

During the program, Pernilla Wahlgren will also be honored when her hit song "Piccadilly circus" from the 1985 edition of the competition is entered into Melodifestivalen's "Hall of fame".

"I feel very honored, proud and happy to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame with my song Piccadilly Circus.

Even though I didn't win, the song was my big breakthrough and the beginning of my career as an artist and singer," says Pernilla Wahlgren in a press release.

However, the artist himself is not on site, but the song will be performed by Tiktok profiler Luciano Axelsson in a dance band version.

The Melodifestivalen is broadcast live on SVT1 at 20:00 and can also be seen on SVT Play.
