It turns out that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology will start to understand the actual situation for the first time about so-called "death by instruction", in which children and students are driven to suicide by inappropriate guidance by teachers.

The bereaved family of a student who committed suicide evaluates it as ``a 'big step' that leads to the prevention of inappropriate guidance by teachers.'

Every year, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology investigates the number of suicides of children and students and the situation at that time through boards of education nationwide, but there were no items to answer whether there was inappropriate guidance by teachers.

Regarding this, bereaved families of children and students who have committed suicide have called the act of being forced to commit suicide by inappropriate guidance by teachers and staff "death under instruction" and have been working to clarify the actual situation.

Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has added a new item "corporal punishment and inappropriate guidance by teachers" to the options for the situation of children and students who have committed suicide from this year's survey, and it has become clear that it will begin to grasp the actual situation for the first time. rice field.

Eleven years ago, the bereaved family of a male student who committed suicide after receiving reprimands and corporal punishment from a teacher who was the manager of the baseball team at a prefectural high school in Okayama City said, "It took more than 10 years since my son died, but I'm afraid I'll die as a coach." I feel that accurately reflecting and visualizing the actual situation is a ``big step that will never go back'' that will lead to the prevention of inappropriate guidance by teachers."

In addition, we are requesting improvements such as confirming with the bereaved family before the school reports the contents of the response to the government and disclosing the details of the survey results.
