Yang Yuni, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the founder of the Yuni Cultural and Art Inheritance Center, said in an interview in Beijing that as a child, he lived on the edge of the Hani terraces in Honghe, Yunnan, and was nourished by Hani singing and dancing. For myself, it has become my mission to inherit and develop the Hani culture.

It is a world cultural heritage that has been cultivated by our Hani ancestors for more than 1,300 years with their own hands and bit by bit with their diligence and wisdom. It belongs to the world, not just our Hani people.

  [Explanation] In 2013, the Honghe Hani Terraces were successfully included in the World Heritage List. This is the first heritage site named after a nation in China. It is also a miracle of terraced farming civilization created by people of all ethnic groups represented by the Hani people .

In 2014, Yang Yuni was admitted to Qi Baishi Art College of Hunan University of Science and Technology, and then founded the Yuni Culture and Art Inheritance Center to carry out the inheritance teaching of intangible cultural heritage , More than 3,000 ethnic students have been trained, and more than 50 students have been admitted to undergraduate universities through dance art and have walked out of the mountains.

  The Hani terraced fields are the root of our Hani people, and the national culture is the soul.

As a native of Honghe, I think it is my duty and responsibility to guard this terraced field.
