A large-scale snowball fight tournament, which had been canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, was held in Sobetsu Town, Hokkaido for the first time in four years, and a fierce battle unfolded.

The "Showa-Shinzan International Snowball Fight" is a major winter event in Sobetsu that has been going on for over 30 years. Approximately 680 people from 68 teams from all over the country participated in three categories: general, women, and beginners.

In a snowball fight, a team of seven players fights in a three-set match, each set lasting three minutes. The winner is the player who captures the opponent's flag or hits everyone with a snowball. Team wins.



With a limit of 90 snowballs per set, the players competed fiercely by throwing sharp snowballs while hiding behind the walls of the court and taking advantage of gaps to aim for the flag. was



A woman who participated from Shimane Prefecture said, "It was a lot of fun to be able to compete at Showa Shinzan for the first time in four years."



The competition is until the 26th, and the winning team will be decided for the first time in four years.
