  According to Zhang Yuguang, chief of the Wetland Ecological Monitoring Section of the Resources Protection Bureau of Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve, after careful observation and counting, there are 50 cygnets in this group.

They live with the geese that have lived in Hengshui Lake for a winter.

Among the geese, in addition to the bean geese, the staff were pleasantly surprised to find a white-fronted goose, a second-class national protected animal.

  Zhang Yuguang said that cygnets are national second-class protected animals and mainly inhabit open waters with lush aquatic plants.

Sex likes clusters and lives in groups except during the breeding season.

Good water environment, rich food and safe habitat in Hengshui Lake are their basic requirements for habitat.

  Zhang Yuguang said that the annual spring bird migration in Hengshui Lake lasts from mid-February to mid-to-late April, with March as the peak period.
